MORE ABOUT TOTALMTB....
TotalMTB Canada, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting mental wellness.
Our mission is to provide access to the resources necessary for maintaining and improving mental well-being through education, training, and physical activity.
We also strive to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness and create an inclusive community where everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, race, sexuality, religion, appearance, fitness level, skill level, background, or the cost of their bike or brand of clothing. We have a range of projects and campaigns designed to encourage people to experience the mental and physical benefits of biking. We’re also at these events.
As part of our commitment, we collaborate with businesses to offer mental health training in French and English and provide guided group mountain biking outings led by staff certified in mental health first aid, for those seeking an adventurous experience.
Join us in our efforts to improve mental well-being and inspire others on their journey towards a healthier life.
The semicolon symbol holds a significant meaning in relation to mental health, raising awareness, and combating the stigma surrounding mental well-being. Within the English language, it represents the continuation of dialogue. As a result, mental health advocates have embraced this symbol to encourage open discussions on the topic.
Through our logo update, we aim to convey our focus on both mountain biking (MTB) and mental health, particularly to individuals who are new to our cause. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure the smooth functioning of TotalMTB, and we are fortunate to have the support of prominent individuals who passionately promote our message.
It is easy to believe that you are immune to mental health problems when you are strong and have everything you need in life. However, it can hit us hard without us expecting it! Sport was my lifeline in one of the most difficult times of my life. Moving alone or in a gang, going to the gym, running and mountain biking kept my head above water. I often find myself thinking that at the same time that I was in the best physical shape of my life, I was in the worst mental shape. Over time, everything was balanced. I support the mission of TotalMTB because I deeply believe that playing outside surrounded by people who like to move can make a big difference in the life of a person going through a difficult time.Stéphanie J
